SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 29, 2026, on Arch Road. Shortly after 3:00 a.m., Central Police Dispatch received several reports of a shooting in the area. Multiple police patrols and an ambulance were immediately dispatched to the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was on his way home when he was approached and shot by one or more unknown assailants. Following the shooting, the suspect(s) fled the scene in the victim's vehicle in an unknown direction. SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) arrested one suspect and confiscated a firearm following a police operation connected to a suspected attempted robbery in the Philipsburg area on Friday, August 28, 2026. At approximately 10:00 a.m., the Police Central Dispatch received information from members of the public regarding two scooters carrying four male individuals, all reportedly dressed in black, traveling from the French Quarter area in the direction of Philipsburg.
