Joint Court starts renovation of City Hall
CURACAO (WILLEMSTAD) - The Common Court of Justice announces that the first phase of the renovation of the City Hall in Punda will start this week. In this phase, the building will be stripped of all non-historical additions that have been made over the years, such as suspended ceilings, partition walls, old cooling machines, air ducts and outdated cabling. The aim of this preparatory work is to make the original structure and spaciousness of the monumental building visible again, as a basis for the next phases of the renovation. The renovation is a design by IMD (Anko van der Woude) and Lyongo architecture (Lyongo Juliana), commissioned by the Ministries of VVRP, Finance and Justice. Five Suspects Arrested including two female minors Following Robbery and Assault
SINT MAARTEN (DEFIANCE) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery and assault that took place in the vicinity of a gentleman's club in the Defiance area. The incident occurred on November 12, 2025, around 12:45 a.m. Following quick police action, officers were able to locate and arrest all five suspects involved. The individuals arrested have the initials D.D., D.L.R.J., C.D., S.J., and F.P.K. Two of the suspects are female minors. In this incident, four victims came forward and filed official reports of assault and robbery after leaving the club. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department are currently conducting an investigation into the case. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
