SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - Prime Minister and Minister of General Affairs, the Honorable Dr. Luc Mercelina chaired a high-level follow-up meeting on Monday, September 14, 2026, concerning the proposed introduction of Surinam Airways service to Sint Maarten. The meeting brought together representatives of Surinam Airways, the Cabinet of the Minister of Tourism, Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunication, Princess Juliana International Airport, the Sint Maarten Tourism Bureau and the Department of Civil Aviation. SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) - The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is providing a further update regarding the investigation into the break-ins at several booths in the Festival Village on the Soualiga Road during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026. KPSM can now confirm that on Monday afternoon, September 14, 2026, the parent of the fourth suspect also brought her son to the police station. The minor was subsequently arrested and is currently being held pending further investigation.
