SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The International Panel on Deltas and Coastal Areas (IPDC), on behalf of its partner organisations, today announced the successful completion of data rescue and digitisation activities for the historical meteorological archives of Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. By preserving historical data, policy-advisors now have critical insights into long-term weather trends that contribute to more accurate climate projections for the islands. This achievement is the result of a unique collaboration between the national meteorological services of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Netherlands. SMMC Screens a Record 500+ Men During Annual Men’s Health Day
SINT MAARTEN (CAY HILL) – On Saturday, October 3, 2026, St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC), in collaboration with the Positive and Elektralytes Foundations, hosted its annual Men’s Health Day, providing free health screenings to a record of 502 men. Participants were tested for prostate cancer, blood pressure, diabetes, and HIV, underscoring the importance of early detection and prevention. To ensure accessibility, men were required to complete a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test in advance at community screening events held on September 12th and 19th at both NAPA locations.
