Belgian Carpentry Students Experience the Caribbean During Student Exchange at MPC
SINT MAARTEN (SOUTH REWARD) - Fifteen carpentry students from Githo School in Nijlen, a village near Antwerp, Belgium, spent an exciting and inspiring week on Sint Maarten as part of a student exchange with Milton Peters College (MPC)/Construction Sector. From September 21 to 25, the Belgian students joined MPC Construction students for a week filled with hands-on learning, cultural exchange, exploration and, most importantly, new friendships. A major part of the exchange was the carpentry program. Working alongside MPC students, the Belgian visitors put their skills to work and together they created 10 beautiful side tables/coffee tables. SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten–Mid Isle successfully hosted two vibrant editions of its Reading Under a Tree initiative on September 12 and September 18, bringing children together for an enriching outdoor reading experience designed to spark imagination, curiosity, and a love for books. Held in natural, open-air settings, the events encouraged over ninety children to step away from screens and reconnect with the simple joy of reading. Surrounded by fresh air and the shade of trees, students immersed themselves in stories, allowing their imaginations to paint the scenes rather than relying on digital visuals.
