SINT MAARTEN/CURACAO - The Board of Supervisory Directors of the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS) announces that Richard Doornbosch has decided to step down as President of the CBCS effective 1 September 2026, to assume a new position outside the organization and outside Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The procedure to identify a suitable successor has been initiated immediately. At the same time, the recruitment process for the position of Financial and Economic Director is at an advanced stage and will be aligned with the first-mentioned procedure. Reading with Ralph Launches at St. Maarten's Oldest School
SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - Reading with Ralph has officially launched. The monthly community reading initiative held its first event at Oranje Primary School. Local author Ralph Cantave hosted the event. It brought together students and families for an interactive story time featuring Caribbean literature. Oranje Primary School was a meaningful choice. It is the oldest school on St. Maarten. It is also featured in Cantave's children's book, Steve Takes a Stand, a story set in 1960s St. Maarten that connects young readers to local history and culture.
