Road Works to Commence on St. James Road as Part of the Concrete Hard Resurfacing Project
SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - he Ministry of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure (VROMI), Department of New Works, would like to inform the public, particularly the residents of St. James Road, Middle Region that road works will commence as part of the ongoing Concrete Hard Resurfacing Project. Works are scheduled to begin on Monday, October 27th, 2025, and are expected to continue for approximately three (3) weeks, pending weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances. These works are part of the Ministry’s continued efforts to improve road infrastructure, enhance drainage, and provide safer, more durable roadways for all motorists and pedestrians. Scooter accident on A.J.C. Brouwers Road under investigation
SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - On Thursday morning, October 23, 2025, a traffic accident involving a scooter and a motor vehicle occurred on A.J.C. Brouwers Road near the entrance of a hardware store. The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) responded promptly to the scene following several emergency calls received by Central Police Dispatch just before 8:00 a.m. Preliminary investigations indicate that the scooter rider was traveling from the Church Hill roundabout in the direction of Cole Bay and attempted to overtake several vehicles.
