URSM Board Members Participate in Corporate Governance Training

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Unified Resilient St. Maarten Movement (URSM) proudly announces that several members of its Board participated in the Corporate Governance Training hosted by St Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) under the guidance of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (CCGI) on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Government Administration Building in Philipsburg. The training, themed “Governance in a Volatile World and Strategies to Govern Effectively,” brought together board members, senior executives, and business leaders from across the island to strengthen knowledge and best practices in governance, accountability, and strategic leadership. First Carnival 2026 truck inspections held on Sat, SCDF reminds only two left

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) and the Police Force of St. Maarten (KPSM) has advised all troupes, bands, DJs, and corporate sponsors participating in Carnival 2026 road events that the first vehicle and truck inspection was already held on March 7, 2026, with two inspection dates still remaining for the season. According to KPSM, all inspections for Carnival 2026 road events are being conducted in March only, and no inspections will be held in April. The police also made clear that no additional inspection days will be added. Island Gems supports differently abled students at 721 Kids Foundation

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - Island Gems Charity Foundation has donated an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device and a new rice cooker to the 721 Kids Foundation, supporting the daily needs and development of differently abled students in the programme.  721 Kids Foundation has been serving children with diverse learning and developmental needs on Sint Maarten for approximately ten years. The organization supports around 50 students and provides specialized care and education for children with conditions including ADHD, autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities, and dyslexia.  A key part of the donation is an AAC device, a communication tool designed for students who have difficulty with verbal speech.
