SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will maintain light to moderate winds across the local region. Available moisture and weak instability will account for isolated showers during this forecast period. 

Meanwhile, seas are expected to remain slight to moderate before deteriorating by Wednesday.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:  Tropical Depression Sixteen formed near Central America or about 1,175 miles southwest of St. Maarten at 5am. This system is forecast to become a tropical storm later today or tonight. 
This system poses no threat to St. Maarten; however the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will monitor its progress.
