SYNOPSIS: 

The Atlantic high pressure system will produce mainly moderate winds across the local region. A drier atmosphere is moving over the local region and will limit significant precipitation. Nevertheless, lingering moisture and weak instability associated with a slowly eroding trough in the region will account for cloudy periods and possible isolated showers. 

Seas are expected to remain moderate during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE:At 5:00 pm Tropical Storm Otto was located about 1305 miles west-southwest of St. Maarten, with maximum sustained winds near 70 mph. This system poses no threat to St. Maarten; however the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor its progress.
