SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Tuesday evening: Northeasterly to easterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 11 to 18 mph and higher gusts possible. 

SYNOPSIS:       

The tightening of the pressure gradient will account for an increase in winds. Moisture embedded in the wind flow is forecast to generate cloudy periods and passing showers over the local area. 

The increase in winds coupled with northerly swells will support above normal marine conditions. Seas peaking up to 8 feet can be expected for the next few days. A small craft advisory is now in effect for St. Maarten. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
