SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight: North to northeast with a light air to gentle breeze of 01 to 09 mph, becoming variable at times.
Saturday morning through evening: Northeast to southeast with a light to gentle breeze of 04 t0 12 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times. 

SYNOPSIS:       

The Atlantic high-pressure ridge will maintain a light to gentle wind flow. Moisture associated with a low-level trough and an approaching frontal boundary will account for increased cloudiness and isolated showers across the local area.  

Hazardous, northerly swells will begin to deteriorate sea conditions from tonight. Swells are predicted to be rough and peak up to 9 feet during this forecast period. Consequently, a small craft advisory and a high surf warning has been issued for St. Maarten. A further deterioration is expected as the weekend progress. Small craft operators and sea bathers should remain vigilant.
