SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Friday evening: Easterly to east northeasterly with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 12 mph. 

SYNOPSIS:    

A relatively drier air mass will prevail over the next several days. However, due to the loose surface pressure gradient and the resultant light to gentle winds, diurnal heating could produce some localized showers over parts of the island. 

Seas are expected to remain slight to moderate during the next few days. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to Moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURES:  

A tropical wave located over the central tropical Atlantic continues to produce a broad area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Environmental conditions are expected to be marginally conducive, which will keep the chances for development of this system low.  

Farther east, a yet to emerge tropical wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. The wave is expected to move off the coast of Africa later tonight. Environmental conditions appear somewhat conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression is likely to form over the eastern tropical Atlantic south of the Cabo Verde Islands by late Saturday or early Sunday while the system moves westward to west- northwestward at about 15 mph. 

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor these systems and update the public accordingly.
