Tonight through Wednesday morning: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy and breezy at times with isolated showers.  

Remainder of Wednesday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers possible.

SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Wednesday evening: Southeasterly to easterly with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 18 mph, and higher gusts possible. 

SYNOPSIS:   

A lingering band of moisture associated with Potential Tropical Cyclone Six could cause cloudy periods and isolated showers during the early part of this forecast period. Thereafter, a relatively drier and more stable atmosphere will limit shower activity through the next few days. Motorists and persons utilizing low-lying areas should remain vigilant through Wednesday morning. 

Seas are gradually subsiding, peaking near 8 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate to rough        
WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURES: 
At 5pm, the center of Potential Tropical Cyclone Six was located about 175 miles southwest of St. Maarten and moving away from the island. Gradual strengthening is expected, and the system is likely to become a tropical storm tonight or early tomorrow morning.    

Although Potential Tropical Cyclone Six no longer remains an imminent threat to the island, the Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor its progress and update the public accordingly. 

OUTLOOK through Thursday evening: Partly cloudy with isolated showers possible.
