SYNOPSIS:   

An approaching tropical wave will bring cloudy skies, isolated showers and a low chance of isolated thunderstorms to the region on Friday. Additionally, the Atlantic high pressure system will maintain gentle to moderate winds. 

Seas are expected to peak at 7 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.  

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate         WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURES: 
1. A tropical wave located about 1200 miles east of the Lesser Antilles has developed a small area of low pressure. However, the associated shower and thunderstorm activity remains disorganized. Environmental conditions are expected to become more conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form by the weekend. This system is expected to reach the local area by late Saturday or early Sunday. 

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system and update the public accordingly.
