SYNOPSIS:   
A weak Atlantic high-pressure system will maintain light winds across the region. Additionally, daytime heating and available moisture could trigger localized showers.  

Marine conditions will remain slight during the next few days.

...NEW TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS OVER THE EASTERN TROPICAL ATLANTIC… 

At 5:00 pm the center of Tropical Depression Twelve was located about 2840 miles southeast of St. Maarten. This system is moving toward the west northwest near 16 mph with maximum sustained winds near 35 mph and higher gusts. Strengthening is expected during the next couple of days and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm tonight or on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.  

OUTLOOK through Thursday evening: Partly cloudy with local showers possible.
