SYNOPSIS:   
Moisture and instability associated with an approaching tropical wave will increase the chances of isolated showers across the local area. 

Marine conditions are predicted to peak up to 6 feet during the next few days.

SPECIAL FEATURES:   

At 5:00 pm, Hurricane Larry was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic, approximately 1840 miles east southeast of St. Maarten. Larry is moving toward the west at 18 mph. Maximum sustained winds are near 80 mph with higher gusts. Significant strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Larry is expected to become a major hurricane tomorrow night.
On its current forecast track, Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.  

OUTLOOK through Saturday evening: Partly cloudy and hazy with brief isolated showers possible.
