SYNOPSIS:   
The Atlantic high-pressure ridge will influence a drier weather pattern across the region. Additionally, an increase in Saharan dust is expected during this forecast period. Persons with allergies and/or respiratory illnesses should take the necessary precautions. 

Marine conditions are predicted to be moderate throughout the weekend. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.

SPECIAL FEATURES:    

At 5:00 pm, Hurricane Larry was located over the central tropical Atlantic. Larry is moving toward the west northwest near 16 mph. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 100 mph with higher gusts. Hurricane Larry is forecast to become a major hurricane this weekend.
On its current forecast track, Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.
