Tonight through Tuesday evening: Northeasterly to east northeasterly with a light to gentle breeze of 04 to 12 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times. 

SYNOPSIS:   
The weakened Atlantic high-pressure system will influence dry conditions and light to gentle winds across the region. 

Long period swells generated by major hurricane Larry will produce hazardous sea conditions through mid-week. Consequently, high surf and small craft advisories remain in effect for St. Maarten. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise extreme caution.     

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to Rough      WAVES/SWELLS: 6 to 10 feet      

SPECIAL FEATURES:    

At 5:00 pm, major hurricane Larry continued along its northwest track, moving further away from St. Maarten.  

Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.
