SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Saturday evening: Easterly to northeasterly with a light to moderate breeze of 06 to 15 mph. 

SYNOPSIS:   

Pockets of moisture drifting with the light to moderate easterly wind flow may trigger brief showers during this forecast period. Small concentrations of Saharan dust will continue to drift across the region leading to slightly hazy conditions.    

Seas will remain slight to moderate throughout this weekend. Some gradual deterioration is expected by Monday.  

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to Moderate      WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURES: 
An area of low-pressure located several hundred miles southeast of St. Maarten could form a tropical depression over the weekend or early next week. 

Computer models are indicating that the system could pass to the north or very close to St. Maarten Monday and Tuesday. The public is therefore urged to closely monitor this system over the weekend. The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the system and provide special advisories if it becomes necessary. 

Tropical storm Odette the 15^th named storm of the 2021 season formed at 5pm off the eastern coast of the United States. Odette poses no threat to St. Maarten.
