Tonight through Saturday evening: South southeasterly to east southeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 08 to 17 mph. 

SYNOPSIS:   

An approaching tropical wave and moisture trailing Hurricane Sam will cause isolated showers during this forecast period. Additionally, the strengthening Atlantic high-pressure system will account for increasing winds.
Seas will remain moderate during the next 24 hours. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate          WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURES: 
1. At 5:00 pm, Tropical Storm Victor was located over the eastern tropical Atlantic about 1965 miles southeast of St. Maarten. Victor is moving towards the west northwest at 13 mph and does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.  

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the Atlantic and update the public accordingly. 

OUTLOOK through Sunday evening: Partly cloudy and breezy, with passing showers possible.
