Tonight afternoon through Sunday evening: Partly cloudy, hazy, and breezy with a slight chance of a brief shower.

SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight afternoon through Sunday evening: East to east-southeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 11 to 18 mph, and higher gusts possible. 

SYNOPSIS:   

A dry and dusty airmass spreading across the region will account for limited showers and reduced visibility across the local area. Persons with allergies/respiratory illnesses should take the necessary precautions. 

The building Atlantic high-pressure system will account for brisk winds, producing seas peaking up to 8 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate to rough      WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURE: 
At 5 PM, Victor was downgraded to a tropical depression and is located about 1700 miles away from St. Maarten in the eastern Atlantic. This system is expected to dissipate in the next few days. According to its current forecast track, Tropical Depression Victor poses no threat to St. Maarten. Consequently, this is the final update on the system.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the Atlantic and update the public accordingly. 

OUTLOOK through Monday evening: Fair to partly cloudy, hazy, and breezy.
