SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Saturday evening: East to northeast with a gentle to fresh breeze of 10 to 20 mph. Higher gusts are possible during the latter part of the forecast period. 

SYNOPSIS:   

A strengthening Atlantic high-pressure system will account for a stable atmosphere and increasing winds supporting hazardous sea conditions. Patches of moisture drifting with the wind flow are forecast to produce a few brief showers. 

Marine conditions are expected to peak up to 8 feet. Consequently, a Small Craft Advisory is now in effect for St. Maarten. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
