SYNOPSIS:
A tropical wave (AL94) is generating widespread showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across the region. These conditions are expected to affect the local area from tonight. Flooding is possible in vulnerable areas. Residents in low-lying and flood-prone areas should exercise caution and take necessary precautions. As a result, a Heavy Rainfall & Flood Advisory is now in effect for St. Maarten until further notice.

STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 6 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE:
- An active tropical wave is producing disorganized showers, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across the region. This system has a medium (60%) chance of development within the next 7 days. Due to this wave, weather conditions across the local area are expected to deteriorate.
- Another tropical wave located about 900 miles east of the region has a medium to high (60 - 90%) chance of development over the next 2-7 days. Environmental conditions are forecast to be generally favourable for development, and a tropical depression is likely to form by the latter part of this week.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue monitoring the Atlantic and provide updates accordingly.
OUTLOOK through Thursday evening: Partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms possible.
