SURFACE WINDS: 
Tonight through Saturday evening: Northeast to east with a gentle to fresh breeze of 10 to 19 miles per hour, along with occasional higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS: 

A relatively dry and stable atmosphere is currently restricting precipitation across the local region. However, a rapidly approaching tropical wave will likely cause inclement weather during the latter part of this forecast period.

Seas are expected to start deteriorating tonight. Small craft operators and sea bathers are hereby advised to exercise caution. An advisory will like be issued as further deterioration is expected on Sunday.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate            WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 7 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: A tropical wave located east of the Lesser Antilles is moving rapidly westward. The associated shower activity is poorly organized and given the fast motion of the system, development should be slow to occur. However, this system will likely bring showers and gusty winds to portions of the Leeward Islands during this weekend, particularly Saturdayinto Sunday.

This system has a 10% chance of development over the next 48 hours. The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will monitor the progress of this system.
