SYNOPSIS: 

A weak tropical wave located in the vicinity of the Eastern Caribbean may cause isolated showers during this forecast period. Meanwhile, the Atlantic high pressure system will maintain moderate easterly winds.
Seas are expected to increase slightly on Thursday and peak near 6 feet.

At 5:00 pm today, the center of tropical storm Fiona was located about 1730 miles east southeast of St. Maarten. The system is moving toward the northwest near 16 mph with maximum sustained winds near 40 mph and higher gusts. Some additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours.
The St. Maarten Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
