Speedy Arrest made in Food Plus Theft

PHILIPSBURG - Suspect with the initials M.J.A.D (31) was arrested today 26thJune 2019 following a petty cash theft which took place on Tuesday 25th June around 9:00a.m., police said in a statement on Wednesday.

The dispatch sent a patrol to the Food Plus supermarket in the Philipsburg area, after receiving a call regarding theft. Upon arrival officers were informed by the store owner that they checked their petty cash pan at approximately 11:00 a.m. and realized that someone was able to withdraw money undetected and fled the store.

Officers on the scene were able to review the camera footage of the store and recognize the suspect who was responsible for the missing money. On Wednesday 26th around 7:30 a.m. the patrol located suspect M.J.A.D, apprehended him, and placed him under arrest and brought him in to the Philipsburg Police station for further questioning.
