SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) - The second Caribbean Well-Being Conference will take place on Sint Maarten from August 5 – 6, 2019. Under the theme ‘Fostering Resilience: Creating a culture of well-being in schools, the conference caters to educators, counsellors, youth workers and parents. CWBC aims to improve the well-being of the child, by promoting the well-being of the care giver.
In keeping with the promotion of care giver well-being, CWBC will kick-off this year with a pre-conference session on Restorative Yoga Practice. The session is open to the public and will teach meditation and mindfulness to explore the mind body connection. These skills are proven to release stress through gentle yoga postures that stretch the body and nourish the spirit. No previous yoga experience is needed. Come with an openness to self-awareness and new experiences. Learn how stabilizing your body and breath can lead to stabilizing your emotional self.
The Session time is 6 to 7 p.m. at the Government Administration Building Main Conference Room. The cost is only $10 for conference registrants and $15 dollars for all others. Fee includes a yoga mat. Please register at the office of the St. Maarten Youth Council Association, RI Maynard Youth Community Center, St. Peters; or WhatsApp 1 721 550 8971 for further information. Space is limited.
