Tonight, through Sunday evening: Southeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 8 to 16 mph. 

SYNOPSIS:    

Atmospheric conditions are destabilizing overnight. A moisture surge is increasing instability over the region bringing with it periodically cloudy conditions and showers. The isolated thunderstorm is possible in confined areas. 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 6 feet  

SPECIAL FEATURE: Tropical Depression (TD) 17 became Tropical Storm (TS) Philippe over the last few hours. Located at 15.6N 39.7W TS Philippe is moving westwards at approximately 14mph (22 km/h). This general motion, with a slight decrease in speed, is expected over the next few days. TS Philippe is expected to strengthen gradually into early next week. Currently, TS Philippe poses NO DIRECT THREAT to Sint Maarten. 

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.
