Weapon in the Assassination of Curacao Politician belongs to a Local Security Company

WILLEMSTAD, Curacao – The weapon used to assassinate Curacao Political Leader and Member of Parliament Helmin Wiels, according to reports coming out of Curacao is allegedly registered to a local Security Company on that island.

With the investigators now having the murder weapon in their possession, various new avenues are opening up in the investigation.  Investigators are now in the process of determining the link between the weapon, the Security Company and the suspects.

The gun found in June in a pond was recently confirmed by the Dutch Forensics Institute after ballistics tests to be the weapon that was used to assassinate the Member of Parliament.

Investigators are checking police reports to see if the weapon was reported stolen from the Security Company.
