Police Force have been busy with incidents of auto theft, vandalism, attempted arson, assault, and more

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - During the weeks spanning from June 02 to June 16, 2024, the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) has been actively engaged in addressing various incidents, demonstrating our commitment to maintaining public safety and upholding the law.

During the period June 2-9, the uniformed division of KPSM responded to and documented 15 reports, covering offenses such as assault, robbery with violence, attempted manslaughter, assault with a weapon, burglary, and theft. Additionally, there were multiple arrests conducted.

Under the "Justice as Soon as Possible" (JASAP) initiative, commonly known as 6-hour cases, six (6) arrests were made by the uniformed division. Following interrogation, these suspects were subsequently released.

The uniformed division also facilitated six (6) additional arrests involving offenses including possession of opium, firearms, and assault. These suspects were detained and processed by detectives under the direction of the Acting-Prosecutor. These suspects remain in custody as per the instructions of the Acting-Prosecutor.

In the period from June 10 to June 16, 2024, the combined efforts of both uniformed personnel and detectives of KPSM resulted in the recording of 12 reports. These incidents encompassed offenses such as attempted manslaughter, theft, assault, auto theft, threats, burglary, vandalism, and attempted arson.

The Uniform Division of KPSM apprehended three suspects under the JASAP initiative, addressing cases related to fencing and assault. Following standard procedures, these suspects were released after interrogation.
