SINT MAARTEN (SOUTH REWARD) - St. Dominic High School proudly hosted its Form 4 Career Advertisement Presentations on Monday, December 1, 2025, as part of the school’s Guidance curriculum.

This project is designed to strengthen students’ research abilities, communication, creativity, teamwork, and presentation skills while giving them the opportunity to explore future career pathways in an engaging and practical way.

The event was coordinated by Career Counselor and IB Coordinator, Gisella Reijna-Hilliman, who worked closely with students to ensure they were well-prepared and supported throughout the process.

For this assignment, students worked in groups to select a career and research key information about it. Their final advertisement was required to highlight the skills, education, and training needed for the career, explain why someone should choose that profession, and include a catchy slogan or tagline.

Each group was expected to demonstrate creativity and ensure full participation from all members. Students then transformed their research into either a pre-recorded video commercial or a live skit performed for their peers and guests.

The event was attended by the Catholic School Board Executive Director, Mrs. Lilia Aventurin-Hodge, and the Superintendent and Innovation Coordinator, Mrs. Jacqueline Greene-Eleonora.

Also present were the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Ms. Melissa Gumbs, and the Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, Mr. Richinel Brug, both accompanied by members of their respective cabinet. All guests expressed how impressed they were with the students’ depth of research, confidence, and professionalism.

They praised the students for their creativity and for the clear and engaging way they presented their chosen careers. The ministers and cabinet members also assisted in the selection of the top-performing groups.

As part of the evaluation process, one top-performing group was selected from each Form 4 class. Form 4A students Jemaiah, Kevin, Cam’ron, Tamaana, and Jada stood out with their presentation on the career of a Family Law Judge.

Form 4B students Chelsea, Sebastian, Tanya, and Andy delivered a beautifully executed presentation on the career of a Fashion Designer. Form 4C students Toline, Tyrique, Deazer, and Roy shined with their engaging presentation on the career of a Criminal Defense Lawyer.

Mrs. Reijna-Hilliman also recognized the other groups who explored a wide range of professions such as Pediatrician, Psychologist, Neuroscientist, Marketing Manager, Private Chef, Marine Biologist, Real Estate Agent, Aerospace Engineer, and Forensic Scientist. Each presentation reflected the students’ creativity, research effort, and commitment to understanding the responsibilities and requirements of their chosen fields.

The management of St. Dominic High School, along with Mrs. Reijna-Hilliman, expressed pride in the students’ hard work and creativity throughout the project. Appreciation was also extended to the ministers, their cabinet members, and the Catholic School Board leadership for investing their time, presence, and encouragement in the students’ development.
