NV GEBE Conducts Emergency Evacuation Drill

SINT MAARTEN (CAY BAY) - Today, Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) Department of NV GEBE conducted a planned emergency evacuation drill at the Power Plant.
The exercise included all Power Plant personnel and was carried out in collaboration with the Marines and the Red Cross.
“This drill forms part of our ongoing commitment to safety, preparedness, and ensuring that our teams are fully equipped to respond effectively in the event of an emergency.
“We are aware that some residents in the surrounding area may have noticed the presence of the Marines and other emergency responders. Please be advised that this was only a scheduled drill and there was no real emergency.
“At NV GEBE, safety remains a top priority, for our employees, our partners, and the community we serve,” NV GEBE said in a statement on Wednesday.
