Beyond Kultura calls on Schools and Readers to Participate in Reading Program 2026

SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - Beyond Kultura Events Foundation (BKEF) has initiated its reading program in schools from September to December 2026.
At the start of the school year, the books of ‘Martino, the Salty story of a Slave boy’ (bilingual Dutch/English) by author Loekie Morales and ‘From Slavery to Freedom’ written by several Kingdom-wide authors would have been distributed to the primary and high schools in Sint Maarten, Saba and Statia for reading purposes.
The same applies to The Freckle Bunch-Tropical Shelter book by Loekie Morales. These books will be used for our reading program.
Beyond Kultura is calling schools and readers/storytellers to participate in our reading program in 2026.
These books contain broad themes, important for stimulating concentration, listening skills, and building empathy among our youngsters. This is the conviction of President and Secretary Mrs. Morales of Beyond Kultura Events Foundation.
A school can participate with a maximum of 2 classes (ages 8-13). It will be assigned 1 reader, who will visit the school 10 times (once a week) during the period to conduct reading/storytelling sessions.
The 10th session will be a “SHOW session”, where the students will express a scene told or read to them. The students can be creative in making posters, drawings, and presenting skits.
