BONAIRE - Today (November 15th) the Public Entity Bonaire, employees (USIBO), employers (BBE, BONHATA, BHG) and the Chamber of Commerce reached concrete agreements on a new opening-up of the Central Dialogue Bonaire.
The agreements include, among others, the consultation's aim, how the dialogue is organized, and the frequency of meetings and the establishment of the budget. The Central Dialogue's first meeting will be held January 31st, 2019.
The Central Dialogue Bonaire is a consultation between local government, trade unions, employers and the Chamber of Commerce on topics that contribute to a social, economic and ecological sustainable Bonaire, e.g. on employment relationships, social security, business climate and poverty reduction.
It has been agreed that the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (SZW) will participate as a permanent adviser and will give secretarial support.
The island governor ex officio is chairman, while meetings will be chaired by an independent technical chairman. The current facilitator will act as such till July 1st 2019. (RCN Caribbean Netherlands)
